Asia University’s Department of Nursing achieved another outstanding performance in the 2025 Second Senior Professional and Technical Nurses Examination. Nationwide, 13,161 candidates registered for the exam, among whom 127 were graduating students from Asia University’s Nursing Department. An impressive 120 students passed, resulting in an overall passing rate of 94.5%, far exceeding the national average of 57.9%. This remarkable success demonstrates the department’s excellence in professional nursing education and examination preparation. Among the graduates, Wang Wei-Qin earned a place on the national Top 100 ranking list, bringing additional honor to the department.
Since its establishment in 2014, the Department of Nursing at Asia University has consistently maintained a national exam passing rate of over 90%, demonstrating strong and steady educational outcomes. Adhering to its educational philosophy of “Empathy, Responsibility, Evidence-Based Practice, and Excellence,” the department is dedicated to cultivating nursing professionals equipped with both clinical competence and humanistic care. To help students obtain their professional licensure, the department established the Nursing Licensure Examination Support Program, which provides students with multiple forms of assistance beginning in their sophomore year. These measures include regular mock exams to assess learning progress, free licensure preparation courses in the senior year, quiet self-study classrooms, and a custom-designed Nursing Licensure Exam Virtual Tutor App based on natural language processing technology, enabling flexible self-directed learning and comprehensive preparation.
Beyond their outstanding performance on the national nursing licensure exam, Asia University nursing graduates are also highly regarded in the workforce. The employment rate one year after graduation has consistently exceeded 90%, and employers report high satisfaction with graduates’ overall performance, giving an average rating of 4.47 out of 5. The top three strengths identified were: (1) willingness to learn and teamwork, (2) professional knowledge and technical skills, and (3) practical application abilities. These results highlight that graduates not only excel in clinical competencies but also collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and demonstrate strong initiative in ongoing learning.
With its continuous enhancement of teaching quality and student support systems, the Department of Nursing ensures high licensure success rates, which in turn contribute to strong and stable employment outcomes. Asia University Hospital provides scholarships of NT$130,000 per year (NT$520,000 over four years), along with guaranteed employment opportunities. In addition, the Asia University Hospital Fengyuan Branch and the Fengfu Health Industry Park, scheduled for completion at the end of 2026, will further strengthen clinical training and employment pipelines—allowing students to secure employment from the moment they begin their studies.
Centering on student success, the Department of Nursing offers a comprehensive “one-stop pathway” that includes scholarships, learning support, licensure preparation, and guaranteed employment. This once again affirms the department’s dedication to cultivating nursing professionals. Looking ahead, the department will continue to invest deeply in nursing education, preparing more highly skilled, compassionate, and clinically competent nurses to contribute meaningfully to society’s healthcare needs.
